My name is Shannon Harvey. I have been working with dogs for only two years, but I have had so much help along the way. I am 33 years old and I have two dogs, a part time job, and I go to school part time. I work part-time at a Doggy Day Care, and before that I was an assistant trainer for Basic Obedience and Puppy Obedience. Let me tell you up front, I wish someone told me everything I needed to know before I first got Shadow. That is why I have created this forum, I am hoping it helps someone else for when they are ready to add a four-legged friend to their family.

My dogs are Shadow and Chaos. Shadow is a German Shorthaired Pointer and Lab mix. She is a high energy hunt dog. That is what both her breeds were born to do. Be active essentially all of the time. She will be 2 years old September 7 and she currently weighs 50 lbs.

Chaos, is a 75lb Rottweiler Airedale Terrier mix. He is more mellow, but more stubborn. His main breed, Rottie, was meant to protect. He is a guard dog and he takes his job very seriously.

Shadow is easy to train, she wants to please, most GSPs and Labs do. She is also exceptionally smart, so she catches on quickly. Chaos on the other hand, is not as smart and is much more stubborn. He requires a firm hand when training, but both require consistency.
